US air strike killed more than 85 civilians, including children, in Syria. This incident took place in the town of Manbij on Tuesday. Among them were up to eight families, who were fleeing from fighting amid one of the deadliest alliance strikes since the start of the US-led military campaign.
The area is a key supply route for foreign fighters seeking to join ISIS as well as the illicit sale of weapons and fuel, which are believed to go back-and-forth across the border. It also revealed the US had carried out more than 450 air strikes around Manbij since its coalition began at the end of May. It would be the biggest strategic defeat for ISIS in Syria since July, 2015, when Tal Abyad was taken over by the coalition forces.
