seers headed for Pushkarams

Peethadhipatis of various peethas including Jagadguru Sankaracharya from Kanchi Peetham will take part in the 12-day Godavari Pushkaralu to be organised on the lines of Kumbh Mela by Telangana government starting from Tuesday.  106 Pushkar ghats have been built in five districts including Adilabad, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Warangal and Khammam.

The peethadhipatis will arrive on different dates and take part in Pushkarasnanam at various places in Telangana as this is one of the rarest of the rare Pushkaralu coming after 144 years. According to senior officials from the Endowments Department, the Kanchi seer Jagadguru Sankaracharya would take part in Pushkaralu at Bhadrachalam.

“Sankaracharyulu will come along with his followers at Bhadrachalam on July 18 to take the holy dip and will stay there for three days,” said the official. Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamy would also take a holy dip at Bhadrachalam and he would stay in the holy city for three days from July 14 to 16. Sachidananda Peetham peethadhipati Sri Ganapathi Sachidananda Swamy would visit Basara to take the blessings of River Godavari on July 17 and also have darshan of Goddesses Saraswati. Sri Sidda Lingarajadeshi Kendra Shivacharya Mahaswamy would visit Kandakurthy onJuly 14.
