PV Sindhu is now No.2 in the World Badminton Ranking

PV Sindhu kept scaling new heights ever since her splendid show at the Rio Olympics 2016. She is only posing a threat to all the International Badminton Player after winning the Indian Open Super Series. Rio Olympic silver medallist Shuttler PV Sindhu reached her career best world rankings, grabbing the number two position with 75759 points in the latest Badminton World Federation (BWF) rankings released on Thursday. 

PV Sindhu climbs to second spot in world rankings

Sindhu, who recently clinched the India Open title defeating Carolina Marin of Spain in the summit clash, moved three places up to number two spot, superseding Japan’s Akane Yamugachi and thus becoming the second Indian woman to break into the top-five of the world rankings. Marin remained in third spot with 75664 points.

The Year 2016 will always remain very special for PV Sindhu. She overshadowed Saina Nehwal, who won bronze in London Olympics, by bagging silver medal at Rio Olympics. Later, The Young Shuttler won China Open Super Series and Malaysia Masters titles. She even finished second at the Hong Kong Super Series. Saina Nehwal, who lost in the opening round of the ongoing Malaysia Open, however, moved one place down to ninth spot with 64279 points in the rankings, which is led by Tai Tzu Ying of Chinese Taipei with 87911 points.
