McDonald’s Employee Becomes Celebrity After Helping A Diasabled

Hats off to him..One can just recall the words of our former Prime Minister Lalbahadur Shastry, after going through this small incident that has taken place in US.Please see the photo enclosed to this posting. This shows a McDonald’s  employee helping a disabled man cut his food is making the rounds on the Internet. Social media lit up in the week since the photo was taken by Facebook user Destiny Carreno last Wednesday at Chicago’s Union station location.

The post, which has been shared more than 3,00,00 times, was posted by one Carreno after she made a stop at the busy restaurant during the evening rush hour. What she saw, she said, made her tear up.”As I waited in line to order, an elderly handicapped gentleman wheeled himself over to the cashier in front of me,” she wrote. “The man politely tried to ask the cashier something and it took him a few tries before either of us could understand he was saying “Help me please.” Carreno said it took several attempts before the cashier realized the man needed help cutting and eating his food. Carreno said she thinks the man may have been quadriplegic, who has the inability to move all four limbs or the entire body below the neck.

“To be honest, I thought the cashier wasn’t going to help,” she said, adding that that “Kenny” shut down his register and disappeared. But then she said she was shocked to find Kenny had merely stepped away to put gloves on.”The cashier came out from the kitchen, sat down, and began cutting the man’s meal and helped him eat,” Carreno wrote. “At that point, the tears started to gather in my eyes. My heart was so appreciative for what he did. I couldn’t contain my emotions in the crowded restaurant.” Carreno said the employee put everything on hold for the man and went above and beyond during a hectic time at the restaurant.

It is the right time, according to Carreno, to sensitize the social media, about such socially demanding issues, and hence she wrote a post, with the photograph, which is going viral now on the web. Thanks to Carreno..you have touched our hearts, by making us to think about the holy words uttered by our former Prime Minister Lalbahadur Shastry, who said that … “ I equally respect a railway gate keeper, who guards the gate, to prevent the possible train accidents!”. A similar thing the McDonald’s employee did, he reached the old man and extended his human touch. That’s what the society needs now!
