Ace shuttler Jwala Gutta announced the launch of her badminton academy here to nurture young talents. The academy, which would come up next month, is being set up in partnership with Knock Out Wellness Labs LLP, a sister concern of Franchise India. This time, She launched her own Badminton Academy named ‘Global Academy for Badminton’ in Kukatpally, Hyderabad. She is planning to expand the operations to Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore & Kolkata by the end of 2017. The Badminton Star promised to give equal importance to both Singles & Doubles. She have plans to reach out to the youth in Rural Areas.

Launches Her Own Badminton Academy

The academy at Kukatpally will set off with a budget of Rs 20 crore. The academy would send the “right talent” for foreign exchange programs and host all national camps within its premises. The institution would have two coaches, one Indian and one international with one coach for training a batch of 20 players. The academy will also tie-up with schools and the centers will be opened on school premises.  If they can produce 100 players, then at least 2-3 of them will bring Gold Medals at the highest level. I am very happy that it has come true now. In Hyderabad alone, they have around 25 Badminton Courts. Our aim is to have 150 courts all over the country in the next one year. It’s more like a talent hunt. We will be supporting players financially if they have potential. It isn’t just about providing coaching but also sponsoring. The membership is very affordable as well, so that people from every corner of the country can participate.

Mohit Verma, co-owner, Knock Out Wellness mentioned,We are really delighted to associate with Jwala Gutta to launch this academy and I am sure her tremendous international experience will be of a great help. Our coaches, under the mentorship of Jwala, would provide the right guidance for players to make badminton their full-time profession, he added.
